This Holiday Season the Glasco's share the importance of family!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting and capturing holiday images of the Glasco family from Denton, TX. I’d like to share this experience with you:

Gena and Tony have been married for 9 years and are born and bred Texans.

The core belief of this family is that every child deserves a loving family and home and this is evident in how the Glasco’s have chose to share their lives. The Glasco’s love the time speny as a family and are very family oriented. Tony & Gena both come from very humble backgrounds where things were not always easy for their parents to provide for them. But with hard work and God directing their paths they have overcome many of life's challenges. They truly know what it means to live in want, but despite it seemingly they have always lived that way they feel and always have lived in plenty.

Their family unit consists of three beautiful children. Corbin who is 4 and the twins (Kindal and Kambel) are 2. All three of their kiddos were adopted through the Texas CPS system and have been with Gena and Tony since they were infants.

Adoption and foster care are near and dear their hearts. Over the past 5 years they have fostered seven children and adopted 3. Their extended family has also embraced adoption and foster care. Gena’s brother has adopted 2 children, her cousin has adopted 3 children and another cousin has adopted one child.

They love the Lord and try their best to serve Him by taking care of His people.

It's Time for Senior 2012 Portrait Sessions!

Capturing senior portraits is one of my favorite sessions to shoot. It is a time when you get to see young adults about to begin the next step of their lives and move from the teen years into adulthood. I treat each session differently and tailor it to meet the clients individual personalities. No 2 senior session are alike.

Here is an image of Alyssa. This is my second opportunity to capture images of her. The first time was a little bit over 2 years ago when she turned 15 and I shoot her Quince portraits and celebration. Now she is nearing the end of her high school days and has flourished into a smart, strong, and beautiful young lady.

Thanks Christina and Alyssa for continuing to trust me as you family photographer.

Baby Colton!

Here is the 1st of many images of Baby Colton. My daughter's new favorite step-brother. His mother is her teacher at school and she spent 9 months taking to him through her belly. To see more images go to my website and check out the "New Arrivals" gallery!

Baby Eva Baptism

I had the pleasure of capturing images for Baby Eva for a third time about a week ago. The first time was in the womb when I captured her mother’s maternity images (see below). The second shoot was her 10 day old pictures were the angel taught me a thing or two about newborns and their love of flash photography after nine months in the dark.

This time she was wide-eyed and bushy tailed for her 4-month old baptism pictures. We took the pictures on the lawn on the Heard-Craig House in historic Downtown McKinney, TX.

She was dressed in her white baptism best and was eager to show me how she had grown.
Please join me in congratulating Eva on her upcoming baptism.

Enjoy the images and as always your comments are welcomed.

Boudoir

Today I will share more images I have taken to highlight the range of my photography. These images were captured this past April here in the Dallas metroplex. The model is a bride I’ve worked with twice in the past (engagement and bridal photos). She was also gracious enough to allow me to post these in public (Thank You Christine)! These shoots are fun, exciting, and also nerve racking. I think she did a great job with her natural beauty and poise. I hope that you can appreciate the beauty on these images.

Below is her comment about the session:

“I was a little nervous prior to my boudoir shoot with Kevin, but he completely put me at ease with his professionalism and humor. Kevin was very relaxed during the shoot and brought tons of items to give the room a studio feel which made the pictures look even more amazing!”

Coleman Maternity

Baby Blog Time!

There is rarely a phenomenon in nature more beautiful that an expectant mother. These are by far some of the most fun shoots to be invited to capture. This shoot as no exception.

On the day of this shoot the sky was really dark and you could feel the rain in the air. It was about 90 degrees and 100% humidity. We had been having torrential rain and tornado warnings the previous 3 days. So when we saw a small window of opportunity to shoot outdoors we took advantage.

The Coleman Family were real troopers. The family is made up of Mom, Dad, Daughter, and new baby to be. They choose colors that were perfect for the occasion. The duration of the shoot was about 1 hour and the family had 1 wardrobe change.

My hope was to capture the beauty of a pregnant mother and also include Dad and the older sibling. i think i accomplished my goal and I hope the family feel the same.

Enjoy and feel free to leave feedback.

Mosso Bridals - Cottonwood Creek, McKinney TX

Today I am processing my latest bridal session. I shoot the session outdoors in McKinney, TX at the Cottonwood Creek Nature Trail. This has been the third of 4 sessions with this bride.

Previously we have shot engagement and boudoir sessions. I will soon unveil the boudoir portraits, but not now because she is using the boudoir images as a present to her soon to be husband. So after the wedding she has granted me permission to post theses on my website and blog!

She is a very easy bride (anti-bridezilla) to work with and has allowed me the autonomy to shoot my style to capture these beautiful images.

In these images I am using as much natural lighting as possible and I am also using high color.

Her wedding is coming up June 26th, 2011. Be on the lookout for images of her
special day!

Enjoy!

Baby Eva has Arrived!

Hardest shoot to date…

Today I am posting my 1st attempt at newborn baby images. This is baby Eva and she was born in late April 2011. To date I have always been curious as to if I was up to the challenge of shooting such a tiny baby. At first you think what could be easier. The baby is barley mobile, sleeps most of the time, and just plain cute!

Surprise to me! To date this was my hardest shoot. Baby Eva was really cute, but to my surprise she was also very alert and awake. I really think she had a 6th senses that she was destined to be the “Next Top Baby Model”. She also decided to test her new form of baby expression: bodily functions. But with a little persistence, lots of warm milk, and some waiting Baby Eva, Mom, and I survived.

Tips for taking successful 10 day old images:
• Allow plenty time
• Try to schedule the shoot at baby’s nap time
• Keep the area you are shooting in warm
• Have plenty of blankets
• WET WIPES for accidents
• Keep the parents calm
• Shoot a ton of shots

I think I may want to try this type of shoot again!

Please enjoy the images and feel free to leave comments.

Maternity Spring 2011

These images were taken in McKinney, TX in March of 2011. Often I wonder how can I keep the images pleasing to the eye, but also a little edgy. Maternity images are some of the best images to play around with lighting and scenes. This can lead to very creative images and effects.

Enjoy,

Kevin

Snow Days, McKinney TX

It is a rare occurrence to have snow in TX. But in McKinney this winter season we have had snowfall two times in just a few weeks. Here are several images captured during both snowfalls. Enjoy.

Super Bowl XLV - Sundance Square Fort Worth, TX

All of the above images were captured the Sunday before Super Bowl XLV in downtown Fort Worth, TX. I tried to capture the essence of what Fort Wort stands for alongside the technology of ESPN!
