Walking Away!

The really hard thing about being a photographer is knowing when to shoot a shot. We spend enormous amounts of time setting up shots and working on posing, but what about just letting the shot just evolve.

This is one of those shots. My subject was finished with the her shoot and was walking back to her hotel. This is the resulting image. Enjoy!

Wanted to share this image of TOW THE LINE. Taken 8/27/10 @ Trees in Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX. The was my 1at attempt at small venue low light photography. This image was shot at 1/160 sec f/1.8 ISO 1600 with a Nikon 50mm (f/1.8) lens.

Barber Shop Flava!

This image was captured at the best meeting place for black men young and old...the barbershop. Where else can you capture the sophistication of urban america and at the same time see the renewal of the mind. Jordan's (J's) have been staple foot wear for over 20 years strong.

UCD 2010 Recital June 13, 2010

Here is the 1st image from the UCD Spring 2010 Recital. This shoot was a huge lighting nightmare. Be on the lookout for more images. This one was shot with a Nikon 18-200 lens 3.5 lens, at 800 iso.

Kristin is a model who volunteered to let me shoot her in early January 2010. This were taken in downtown Irving, TX. The temp was 37 degrees, but by her beautiful smile you would never have known. I look forward to working with her in the near future. This image was edited tonight. I saved a larger number of the images from this shoot to edit as my skills developed. It's amazing what you can capture when people and kids are not looking! I had a second person shooting from the front while I captured this image from behind.

Too Cute!

This is one of my favorite images. This little ballerina was easy to pose and had a naturally beautiful smile. I think I took 50 shots of her because she was so easy to work with.
